31 Jan Website Makeover for local non-profit
Have you been getting alot of unsolicited e-mails from random “web developers” looking to sell you a new website? I get them all day long myself. They’re coming in from e-mail, or my website, just about every possible avenue. But beware of these blind solicitations – more and more people are getting sucked into their schemes. What seems a nice proposition can become a costly problem. I have had several clients get solicited in this manner recently – and are now trapped in situations that are expensive to get out of.
And sometimes you just don’t need a new website – sometimes it just needs a makeover. If you are using themes, over time, their performance could start to degrade as newer and more efficient technologies become available. This site is a great example of a site that needs a makeover soon! I tend to update my site every year or so, and this infrastructure solved so many issues for me when it was first available. But now, there are better, faster, lighter ways to do the same thing…so when I have a chance, this site is going to get a YUGE makeover to make it faster and more attractive.
We recently made-over a site for local non-profit Arbella Corps. Their website has been around for several years and has become a huge repository of information – it’s just not that easy to “re do” – but a makeover was just what it needed to run faster across all devices.
A makeover can vary in terms of difficulty. Some can be quite easy if you keep to the same framework. Some, however, can be nearly as time consuming as a completely new site. A good developer will be able to steer you in the right direction and find a solution that makes sense for you.
If you would like a review of your website and see if a makeover would help speed up your site or improve your users’ experience, please get in touch. We’d love to help.
