23 Jun New Website Launched for the Beverly Arts District
We recently won an RFP for a website for the newly designated Beverly Arts District, which thrilled us, as we are huge supporters of the arts ourselves! The website needed to be colorful and filled with dynamic content to appeal to artists and businesses alike. We needed the ability to add user-submitted events to a community calendar, receive user-submitted profiles for an artists directory, integrate social media, e-commerce, and be easy to use – all with the goal to be live for Arts Fest on June 20th (we had less than 12 weeks from bid to live!).
We are pleased to be able to say were able to meet these deliverables – on budget and on time!
Getting a website live on time is a team effort. More often than not, clients do not have their content prepared, which makes it very hard for the developer to be able to present meaningful scenarios during the early phases. Even when we have thrown in placeholder text or graphics, most clients can’t visualize the end result. It reminds me of a realtor trying to sell a house with the current owner’s stuff in the way – the potential buyer just can’t see past what they see.
This project was an example the “all hands on deck” collaboration that is necessary to making sure a site is delivered on time. Content was provided in a timely manner via word doc and other assets were shared via a team dropbox. Everybody knew time was of the essence and gave the project their full attention while we worked on the back end to design a site that would not only do all that was required of it, but do so in a way that would be easy for the team to administer themselves moving forward.
